Dan Putnam continues his torrid pace at the plate in helping lead the UW-Whitewater Warhawks out to a 7-2 lead through three innings at James Miller Stadium in Whitewater.
Putnam led off the Warhawk 1st inning with an infield single and would score the Hawks first run of the game. Whitewater put three on the board in the 1st inning. Added a single run in the second with three more in the 3rd fueled by Dylan Friend's 2-run homer.
In his first three at bats, Putnam is 2 for 2 plus a walk and has scored 2 of the Hawks 7 runs.
Ripon scored two off UWW starter Riley Tincher in the top of the 3rd.
Ticher has given up the 2 runs on 2 hits, walking 3 Ripon batters while striking out 3.
