The 21st-ranked St. Scholastica baseball team (Duluth, Minn) played its final doubleheader in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome for the season this (Thursday) morning and swept Augsburg College 15-2 and 5-3.
The two wins give the Saints an overall record of 13-3, while the Auggies fall to 6-11 overall.
Earlier this month St. Scholastica won eight of nine games in Florida. SSU only loss was a 20-9 defeat at the hands of Rutgers-Camden (8 & 5) out of the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Saints and North Port's rival UW-Superior (6 & 3) also played down in Florida. St. Scholastic defeated the Yellow Jackets.
The Saints will open Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play next weekend when they travel to face Northwestern College for a three-game series.
The Saints are coming off a 36-7 season in 2009 and will be looking for their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance this season.
