Why the Metrodome and not Miller Park?

There was once an old adage that WIAC teams might schedule early season non-conference games in late March or early April but the odds are that the games will seldom be played on the scheduled date. The reason? Simple - the weather.

Over the past three years, a number of WIAC schools have been able to play those early season games at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis.

This season, 15 of the first 16 games were played at the Metrodome.

With the exception of UW-Platteville, the rest of the WIAC scheduled games at the Metrodome this season.

I don't know the answer but why are no state college baseball games scheduled at Miller Park (adjacent photo) in Milwaukee? I don't no what the field conditions are this time of year at the retractable-roofed stadium.

It would be great if some of the WIAC schools in this part of the state could rent Miller Park instead of making the nearly six hour trip to Minneapolis (for some schools several times a season).

I'm not ranting - just wondering. I'll do my homework and check back with you later this week.
