Not all WIAC baseball teams spent spring break in Florida this month.
UW-Oshkosh along with UW-La Crosse have used the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis for it's "spring training" games so far this season.
Oshkosh has split four doubleheaders at the dome over the past three weeks.
The Titans (4-4) are taking on Benthany College (Minn) in doubleheader action this (Thursday) afternoon at the Metrodome.
After its sixth straight one-run affair, the UW-Oshkosh baseball team overcame a 7-0 deficit with a nine-run inning to post a doubleheader split with St. John’s (Minn.) on Wednesday (March 24) night under the Dome.
UW-LaCrosse also will spend the weekend at the Metrodome. The Eagles, off to a 1-3 start to the season, have doubleheaders scheduled vs. Concordia University, St. Paul (Minn.) on Saturday (3/26), vs. Augsburg on Sunday (3/28) and will wind up its Metrodome dates with a doubleheader vs St. Johns (Minn) on Tuesday evening (5/30).
UW-Whitewater has played a number of early spring games in the Metrodome over the past several years. According to Warhawk head coach John Vodenlich, the dome has been referred to as Prucha Field North! Its accessability has been a major boon in the early season, not only for the Warhawks, but most other WIAC teams.
UW-Platteville spent the spring break in North Carolina going 6-0 earlier this month in Fayetteville (North Carolina). The Pioneers only loss so far this season was a 9-4 loss in the season-opener at Greenfield College (Ill) on March 4.
