UWW is no stranger to Division III World Series

UW-Whitewater Warhawk baseball teams are no strangers to playing in the NCAA Division III World Series.

The Warhawks will be making its fifth appearance in the Division III World series later this week.

Under head coach John Vodenlich, UWW captured its only NCAA Division III baseball title in 2005. His 2004 and 2008 teams finished 3rd in Appleton.

UW-Whitewater’s first trip to the World Series sent them to Bristol, Connecticut in 1989, where the team tied for fifth place under head coach Jim Miller.

The Warhawks will take a 36 & 11 record into its first round game vs. (32-16) Buena Vista University of Storm Lake, Iowa. The Hawks and BVU game is set for Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute (Appleton)
