Hawks host Concordia Thursday in regular season finale
The Warhawk baseball team winds up the regular season this afternoon by hosting Concordia University (21-13) of Mequon in doubleheader action at Jim Miller Stadium. The Hawks enter Thursday's action with a 33 & 4 record, ranked No. 3 in the nation according to D3Baseball.com.
Earlier in the season Warhawk head coach John Vodenlich told Voice's Eye on Baseball Blog that the season is a journey, not a sprint. The regular season portion will end with Thursday's non-conference doubleheader vs. Concordia beginning at 1 p.m.
Next weekend the Warhawks captured thhe 2010 WIAC title. It is the seventh in the last eight seasons and 13th in program history.
UW-Whitewater will host the three-team, double-elimination WIAC Tournament as the event’s top seed May 14-15. The winner of the conference tournament earns the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship.
The NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament will take place at UW-Whitewater's Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium.
Action begins this afternoon at 1 pm.
