Armando Hernandez involved in "bratwurst incident" over the weekend

The UW-Whitewater baseball team took a beating on the field on Sunday and so did the bratwurst.

Veteran Warhawk assistant coach Armando Hernandez is responsible for fungo bat duty in UWW’s pregame fielding warm-ups. “Mando’s” final fungo hit is always a foul pop-up to the catcher. On Sunday, Hernandez’s final fungo hit went over the backstop landing on four unsuspecting bratwurst being grilled for the University Field concession stand.

Unfortunately, the brats were “dead on arrival” at the waste basket adjacent to the concession stand.

Voiceseyeonbaseball.blogspot.com has learned the Pointer baseball team will wear a bratwurst patch on its uniforms the rest of the season.

Hernandez reportedly told authorities that the wind was at fault for carrying the ball over the backstop and onto the grill.

In a related note, blogger, Tom “Voice” Pattison, ate two brats following the unfortunate incident to honor of the four brat victims.

Rumors have been circulating that CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 is considering broadcasting live Monday night near the grill where the tragedy occurred.

This late note - CNN will not be bringing Anderson Cooper to Stevens Point Monday night.
