The UW-Whitewater baseball team will play host to UW-Platteville in WIAC action Wednesday afternoon on Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium.
The National Weather Service is calling for cloudy skies with a game-time temperature of 52 degrees and a 30 percent chance of a hit-or-miss shower.
First pitch for game-one of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.
When the heck is REAL spring weather going to invade southern Wisconsin? For UW-Whitewater baseball fans that have been regulars at Warhawk games this spring (both home and away) winter clothing has been a must.
Over the last 10 days game-time temperatures have hovered in the lower 40s with a wind chill for a couple of games in the upper 20s.
The month of April has only had five days with a high temperature of 60 degrees or higher.
Don’t blame the weatherman you watch on TV. Blame south Pacific Ocean Southern Oscillation which is currently in a La Nina stage which is a major reason for the wet and violent weather to the south of Wisconsin and the cool wet weather that has been a regular visitor in Southern Wisconsin all month.
Elsewhere in the WIAC on Wednesday (all doubleheaders)
UW-Oshkosh at UW-Stevens Point
UW-Superior at UW-La Crosse
