Hawks begin preparations for this weekend's four-game series at Stevens Point

The UW-Whitewater baseball team began its preparations Tuesday (see adjacent photo) for this coming weekend’s four-game series at archrival UW-Stevens Point.

The Warhawks are coming off a four-game sweep of UW-Superior on Prucha Field at James Miller Stadium in Whitewater.

The Hawks are idle prior to Saturday’s doubleheader at University Field in Stevens Point.

The Pointers were in Ripon Tuesday afternoon for a rescheduled non-conference twinbill against the Red Hawks.

The Pointers split the doubleheader, winning the opener 11-7, while dropping the nightcap 8-6.

UWSP head coach Pat Bloom used his pitching staff in frugal fashion in advance of this weekend’s four-game series vs. UW-Whitewater. Cody Koback was the only one of the six Point pitchers to go more than 3 innings at Ripon.

The Pointers will take a 9 & 4 record into the weekend against the Warhawks. Whitewater enters the series at 11 & 2.

Much more on this weekend’s Warhawk-Pointer four-game series will be coming up all week long here on voiceseyeonbaseball.blogspot.com.
