Tincher pitches a 3-0 shutout of Superior in game-one at the Mills

You can call Riley Tincher, Corporal Tincher following his 5-hit shutout of UW-Superior in game-one of Sunday’s doubleheader at James B. Miller Stadium.

The senior from Oregon High School was dominating on the mound giving up just two hits entering the ninth inning. Superior did put together three hits in the 9th. Justin Haag came to the plate, down by three runs with the bases loaded and two out. Tincher got Haag to ground to Travis Wessels for a force play at second to end the game.

Tincher goes the distance giving up five hits, struck out 11, did not walk a batter, and faced just 31 UW-Superior batters is picking up his 3rd win of the young season.

Whitewater: 3 runs, 9 hits, 0 errors, 6 LOB
Superior: 0 runs, 5 hits, 0 errors,

Andrew Eichstaedt and Matt Beyer were the lone Warhawk batters to record multiple hits in the game. Beyer was 2 for 2 with a run scored. Eichstaedt finished 2 for 4 at the plate.

Danny Putnam, Jeff Donovan and David Cladis each recording an RBI in the UWW victory.

Game-two of the doubleheader will get underway shortly.
