Hawks and Blue Devils again this afternoon at the Mills

The weather will be great today. In the words of Chicago Cubs’ legend Ernie Banks, “Lets play two!”.

The UW-Whitewater baseball team will enter today’s doubleheader vs. UW-Stout (12-Noon start) on an 11-game winning streak. The only blemish on the Warhawks’ season was to Cortland State (New York) back on March 20th early in UWW’s annual spring trip to Florida. For the record, Cortland State is currently 21-6 and ranked 21st in the current ABCA National Top 25.

Riley Tincher will start in game-one for Whitewater. The big lefthander is 6 & 0 on the season and pitched 5.2 innings of game-one of Wednesday's doubleheader at Platteville. Brandon Loertscher starts for Stout

The Warhawks (16-1, 4-0 in WIAC) rolled to a doubleheader sweep over Stout Saturday. The 'Hawks won game one 21-6 and game two 15-3, both shortened due to the WIAC’s 10-run rule).

Today’s twin bill will be the third in three days for Whitewater. For the first time this season the Hawks will be forced to go deep into a starting pitching rotation.

Following today’s doubleheader the Warhawks will depart on its longest road trip of the WIAC schedule. Two games at Platteville Wednesday (4/14) followed by a pair of weekend twin bills in La Crosse next weekend.

Gametime temperature is 63 degrees with the winds 5 MPH out of the east (towards left field line.

Check back often later today as I’ll be blogging live all afternoon long from the Mills.
