So you thought you had a bad day?!
Fire on bus, walk-off home run make for bad day for the UW-Platteville baseball team Saturday.
The Pioneers got up early Saturday morning to jump on the bus for its drive to UW-Stevens for a pair of weekend WIAC doubleheaders.
It was a day that began with a fire on the bus ended with a ninth-inning loss for the UW-Platteville baseball team.
The bus to UW-Stevens Point caught fire in the back after a tire blowout, leading to an evacuation roughly 40 minutes after leaving Plateville. All occupants got out safely, and a new bus was brought to transport the team the rest of the way.
Brad Archambeau's ninth-inning solo home run gave the host Pointers an 11-10 win in the nightcap, adding to the Pioneer misery. The Pointers also won the first game 14-5.
