Hawks open weekend with 7-5 win over Stevens Point
The Warhawks opened the weekend with a 7-5 win over UW-Stevens Point in the first game of Saturday's boubleheader at Jim Miller Stadium.
The Warhawks took a 6-l lead into the eighth inning. Stevens Point exploded for four in the eighth to cut the UWW lead to 6-5. Whitewater tackled on an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth. Ben Versnick retired the final five batters to record his sixthh save of the season.
Riley Ticher went 7.1 innnings to record his 9th win of the season.Tyler Lorenz took the loss for the Pointers and is now 4 & 3 on the season.
