Weather postponements result in doubleheaders Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Warhawks

Spring weather in Wisconsin often results in games getting "stacked up" in an already very busy five week period of WIAC games. For Whitewater and Platteville the "stack up" has already begun. The highly anticipated WIAC opening UW-Whitewater at UW-Platteville doubleheader that was scheduled for Wednesday (4/7) has been postponed two days in a row due to rain and wet grounds.

The two-day back-up puts early conference season pressure on both UWW and UWP pitching staffs.

Whitewater will play two games Friday vs. a very offensively talented UW-Platteville squad. Back home on Saturday and Sunday to host UW-Stout in a pair of doubleheaders.

The Pioneers also will have six games in the next three days. Following Friday's twin-bill vs the Warhawks, the Pioneers hit the road for a pair of weekend doubleheaders at UW-Stevens Point.

Next Wednesday the Warhawks travel back to Platteville for another doubleheader. Then it will be back on the road April 17th and 18th for a pair of weekend doubleheaders at UW-La Crosse.

Coach John Vodenlich's team is in search of a 9th WIAC regular season title in the past 11 years. A big key will to do well in the early WIAC road games to "set the table" for eight straight games at home vs. perennial WIAC powerhouses, Oshkosh and Stevens Point

The weather is looking good for Friday afternoon. According to Weatherbug.com sunshine and lower 60 degree temperatures are forecast for Platteville's Kendall Murray Field Friday afternoon.
