Warhawks 18-1: No. 3 in D3baseball.com Top-25
The UW-Whitewater baseball team continues its climb in the D3baseball.com Top 25 Poll. The Warhawks (18-1) are up three spots to No. 3 in this week’s poll. Whitewater also garnered one 1st place vote by the panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country,
St. Thomas (Minn) (18-2) remains No. 1 in the poll. The Tommie’s had been a unanimous No. 1 for the past three weeks. In this week’s poll UST garnered 22 of the 25 first place votes.
This week’s poll keeps the top five ranked teams in the same order. Chapman (Calif) No. 2 with one first place vote, Whitewater 3rd, Heidelberg (Ohio) with one first place vote is No. 4 followed by Johns-Hopkins (Maryland) No. 5.
Ranked six through ten include: Wooster (Ohio), Marietta (Ohio), Trinity (Conn.) and Shenandoah (Virginia) and Pomona-Pitzer (California)
UW-Stevens Point (12-6) drops two spots to No. 21 in this week’s poll.
The next Amercian Baseball Coaches Association Top 25 won’t be released until April 20th. UW-Whitewater was ranked No. 3 in last weeks poll.
UW-Whitewater travels to Platteville Wednesday for a twin bill prior to doubleheaders at UW-La Crosse Saturday and Sunday.
