Poker Star Eric Baldwin to be honored Wednesday at Miller Stadium

Eric Baldwin, a highly successful player on the Pro Poker Tour, will be back in Whitewater on Wednesday (4/28) for the UW-Whitewater vs. UW-Oshkosh doubleheader at Jim Miller Stadium. Eric donated $200,000 to UW-Whitewater Baseball for field lights. His gift enabled us to receive the bid to host the 2010 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional in May.

Baldwin will be welcomed by Chancellor Richard Telfer and will throw out the first pitch for the UW-Oshkosh doubleheader. Telfer will honor Eric by naming the clubhouse at Prucha Field at Jim Miller Stadium, “The Eric Baldwin Clubhouse”. Baldwin donated $200,000 to UW-Whitewater baseball for field lights, which helped the Warhawks earn a bid to host a NCAA Division III regional May 19-23.

Baldwin earned $1,034,715 this past weekend by placing second place at the World Poker Tour at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. This puts his career winnings close to $4 million. Baldwin was named 2009 Player of the Year by CardPlayer magazine.

In Baldwin's 2005 championship season, the Warhawks had a record of 45-7 and defeated NY-Cortland 11-4 in the championship game. Baldwin played and started in all 52 games and batted .356.

Eric will be available for autographs.
