Got up early this morning. Cleaned the house and posted stories on both this blog and Warhawkfootball.com. I had my game face on as I departed for Platteville at 9:30 a.m. I arrived at Kendall Murray Field here in Platteville about 12:15. The adjacent photo pretty much tells to story. Today's doubleheader already postponed yesterday do to a steady all-day rain has been postponed again do to unplayable conditions. Significant rain the past 30 hours had field workers singing Michael Row Your Boat Ashore, Alleluia.
At 1 p.m. this afternoon the temperature was 40 degrees with a brisk northwesterly breeze at 15 to 20 mph. That will be a big help in drying the field prior to Saturday’s 1 p.m. doubleheader.
The delay until tomorrow means that both the Warhawks and Pioneers will play six games over the next three days.
Whitewater hosts Stout in doubleheaders Saturday & Sunday. Platteville travels to Stevens Point for doubleheaders both Saturday and Sunday.
While today’s postponement is somewhat troublesome, Saturday’s games will be played under sunshine and temperatures in the lower 60s.
More from Platteville later today.
