The main cheer in the WIAC this week has been offense - offense!

If you enjoy watching high scoring baseball games, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has been your destination the past couple of days.

Want proof? Under sunny skies and lower 80 degree temperatures on Thursday (4/1) Whitewater & Platteville swept non-conference doubleheaders:

Marian University @ UW-Whitewater
• UWW 19, Marian 7 (1st game)
• UWW 13, Marian 3 (2nd game)

Loras @ UW-Platteville
• UWP 15, Loras 14
• UWP 11, Loras 10

It got even wilder on Friday as Platteville swept its second doubleheader in as many days. The Pioneers unleashed an offensive attack never before seen in school history, hitting a staggering 15 home runs to sweep Carroll in Waukesha. Oshkosh also had little trouble sweeping a twin bill from Fox Valley rival Lawrence University.

UW-Platteville @ Carroll University
• UWP 32, Carroll 8
• UWP 23, Carroll 13

Lawrence University @ UW-Oshkosh
• UWO 15, Lawrence 4
• UWO 27, Lawrence 6

Totaling up the runs and hits, 220 runs with 257 hits, and it reminds me of looking at box scores when I was playing slow pitch softball back in the day. It should be noted, I didn’t have a lot to do with Security National Bank slow pitch softball offensive numbers with my derriere spending much of the time on the bench!

Chances are we’ll see another offensive explosion today (weather permitting).
4/3/10 Schedule:
• UW-Oshkosh @ St. Norbert (DH)
• UW-Stevens Point @ Ripon College (DH)
• Findlandia (Mich) @ UW-Stout (DH)
